Vintage Malibu Potteries Decorative Tile wall hanger has a rare SIGNED "M" 8" tile at it's centerpiece. Multicolored with 5-6 glazes. The wrought iron hanger incorporates a pot holder and the green vintage Bauer flower pot (in very good condition) is included with your purchase.
Tile measures 8" in very good condition with only 1 barely noticable corner chip, no surface issues, hairlines, or repairs. Fully signed with Malibu's "M" on the reverse. Red Clay. The tile has been adhered with clear caulking, and you may add grout if you prefer.
The Wrought iron measures: 18" tall x 12" x 6" deep at pot holder.
This famed Pottery by the Sea only operated for a few short years in the 1920s at the locale of the original Spanish Land Grant. Today the Adamson House Museum at the lagoon (near the pier) shows examples of the tile they were so famous for. The cuerda seca technique used here utilized resist lines to contain the various glazes.
